Vulnerable Hearts on a Journey

This journey began with my two best friends in college. We started a group message at the beginning of 2016 to study a different fruit of the Spirit from Galatians 5:22-23 each month in the year, with some additional topics to cover the other three months.

I found that the group message became a pivotal part of my relationship with God during that season. The desire of my heart grew to know more of God’s heart versus my own, being undone in all that entails.

As time went by, we asked others to join. It felt selfish to keep it between ourselves when the spiritual impact was enormous. Not only did it change the way I approached God, it also adjusted the way I approached people.

My friendships experienced new depths in the process. And I like to think that it created a space of encouragement and comfort for those that found themselves in the ropes of uncertainty.

Digging deep into the Word of God requires a sense of vulnerability. I find it impossible to seek and withhold at the same time. All God really wants is the honesty of our hearts.

The Group Message is a dwelling place for those pure of heart, who choose honesty above appearances. It is for all the vulnerable hearts on a journey to know more about God’s heart.
