There is a voice that whispers in raspy tones. With flagrant delicacy, it drips lies like honey. Forcing its opinion on her identity, it tears down who she is, who she was born to be. And in a blink, her worth is stolen.

I don’t want to be that woman. And I don’t want to be the one that belittles.

A lot of our choices are like poisonous plants that stem from a stump of inferiority.

Those choices include our dialogue, both inner and outer; our perspective, where we choose to let our eyes wander; and our beliefs, what we believe about ourselves, others, and God.

A virtuous woman has immense worth. She is precious, valuable, and worthy.

An excellent woman [one who is spiritual, capable, intelligent, and virtuous], who is he who can find her? Her value is more precious than jewels and her worth is far above rubies or pearls.
— Proverbs 31:10 AMP

Sometimes we live our lives with the cloud of wanting to please people and win their approval, but that way of life is difficult to carry, it’s heavy.

God doesn’t approve us any more or less because of how good we are or how beautiful we are or how competent we are. Regardless of our choices, God has placed His seal of approval on us through the Holy Spirit.

God accepts us as we are and helps us thrive in the soil of His marvelous love. We become better and better, more and more successful.

Galatians 1:10 (NLT) says, “Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant.”

Our worth isn’t based on what other people think of us. God recognizes our feelings and understands the depths of who we are.

Still He validates us.

Still He values us.

Still He loves us.

Still He accepts us.

Even knowing the worst of who we are, He finds us worthy.

That alone turns my gaze from the false beliefs of myself to the truth of my significance in this world.

We are worthy, valuable, validated, important, and significant.

We are His.

    Proverbs 31:10 MSG

  • But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus—the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God.

    Acts 20:24 NLT

  • Turn my eyes from worthless things, and give me life through your word.

    Psalm 119:37 NLT

  • Do not let unwholesome [foul, profane, worthless, vulgar] words ever come out of your mouth, but only such speech as is good for building up others, according to the need and the occasion, so that it will be a blessing to those who hear [you speak].

    Ephesians 4:29 AMP

  • Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ and become one with him. I no longer count on my own righteousness through obeying the law; rather, I become righteous through faith in Christ. For God’s way of making us right with himself depends on faith.

    Philippians 3:8-9 NLT
